As many of you know, we are partnering with Rotary Club Zrenjanin in Serbia to raise funds to provide badly needed medical supplies to this hospital which serves a community of approximately 190,000. With an annual income of less than $800, basic supplies to address such issues as childhood diseases, medical exams, and post-operative follow-up care are beyond the reach of most of this population.
Centennial Rotary has selected Project C.U.R.E., (recognized as the world’s largest distributor of donated medical equipment and supplies to resource-limited communities across the globe), to be the vehicle for providing these medical supplies to this hospital and region.
This process involves many steps the first of which is for Project C.U.R.E. to do an initial needs assessment in Zrenjanin to ascertain what would be of most benefit and impactful. The assessment fee of $4,000, was raised by private donations and we are pleased to announce that it is about to begin. While this is going on, we are starting our own fundraising efforts from our two Clubs, soliciting support from other clubs in our respective districts, and from a RI Global grant which was in the process of preparing. We hope to have our goal of $32,000 raised by the start of June 2022.
Project C.U.R.E. is also helping us by setting up a fundraising page on their website where donations can also be made to help offset the total amount which we need to secure: https://4agc.com/ fundraiser_pages/6b5a8a7e- b92f-426c-8e58-92e8d8eb97ed#. YaVXFdDMLIV
We will keep you up to date on our progress.
